For four days, 27 galleries, project spaces and artist-run centers open their doors to the public and offer a variety of activities in Montreal. This is the perfect time to discover numerous exhibitions and to meet and exchange with gallery owners, artists and other important players in the art world. Throughout the weekend, enjoy a wide range of free special activities: discussions, guided tours, openings, talks, brunches, publication launches, creative workshops and much more!
Gallery Weekend Montreal is made up of four routes: Downtown, Mile-End/Plateau, Rosemont/Villeray et Old Montreal/Southwest. Each route will take you to a number of galleries and will allow you to explore the city as you discover outstanding exhibitions and artists.
For the first time this year, the Association is collaborating with the Regroupement des centres d’artistes autogérés du Québec (RCAAQ), allowing 7 Montreal artist-run centers to join the event.
Thursday and Friday: noon to 7 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: noon to 5 p.m.
Gallery Weekend is an international event presented in the world’s major cities: Berlin, Paris, London, Brussels, Chicago, Warsaw, Beijing, Budapest, Mexico City, Milan, Barcelona, Madrid, Santiago, and many more. The Contemporary Art Galleries Association is participating in this international trend for a fourth year and will present editions in Montreal and Toronto.
